Chagrin River Watershed Partners CRWP received grant funding from the Ohio Water Development Authority in cooperation with the Ohio Lake Erie Commission to provide in-watershed mitigation to reach the goal of no export of wetland and stream functions from CRWP Member communities. The grant funds will be used to research the feasibility of establishing a mitigation bank, develop a mitigation banking instrument, select potential mitigation sites, develop detailed site plans for at least two mitigation sites, develop a sustainability plan for the mitigation bank, and create a website to advertise the bank. After establishing a mitigation bank CRWP will promote advancement of additional mitigation sites. CRWP is currently identifying potential mitigation sites. If your community or organization has property with streams, wetlands, or other water resources which may be a potential mitigation site, please click on the link below and the fill out the Idenifying Stream and Wetland Restoration Sites form and return it to CRWP or contact Amy Brennan at CRWP at (440) 975-3870 or abrennan@crwp.org. Please note, completing stream or wetland restoration or enhancement on your property will require planting native plants, naturally vegetated buffers, monitoring for a minimum of 5 years, and permanent protection of the mitigation area through conservation easement or similar mechanism.
