Stream Monitoring Volunteer Program & Volunteer Retention Strategies
Are you interested in learning more about stream monitoring and how to reach and retain volunteers? Chagrin River Watershed Partners and Sarah Barrow, Watershed Coordinator with Summit Soil & Water Conservation District, are partnering to bring you a free virtual Speaker Series event on Friday, February 28th, 2025, from 12 – 1PM. In this presentation, Sarah will discuss the creation and evolution of Summit SWCD’s stream monitoring volunteer program, basics of stream monitoring, and volunteer retention strategies. This program has over 40 dedicated volunteers helping to monitor over 50 sites and protect our local waters! Additionally, hear about Summit SWCD’s partnership with the Lake Erie Volunteer Science Network.
