Chagrin Connect: A Plan to Connect Communities to the Chagrin River & Lake Erie

Chagrin Connect is a trail plan that our team developed in conjunction with the Northern Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency’s (NOACA) Western Lake County Lakefront plan. Chagrin Connect lays out a vision to better connect residents and visitors with the Chagrin River and Lake Erie in western Lake County. We worked with twenty-six partners including the Lake County Stormwater Management Department and the Lake County Board of Commissioners to secure funding from the Cleveland Foundation Lake-Geauga Fund and multiple partners to support the development of this plan. Along with connections to the Chagrin River, this plan highlights improvements along the lakefront and at Chagrin River Landing in Eastlake, Todd Field and Daniels Park in Willoughby, and community connections to Chagrin River Park. This plan connects surrounding communities to the Chagrin River and Cleveland Metroparks’ emerald necklace and regional trail networks. This plan enable us to convene project partners to identify implementation priorities and funding opportunities and assist partners with securing funding and designing and constructing the trail.
